As of 2022, the Europapark will still have a number of development locations, with parking lot P2, opposite the Euroborg complex, being a particularly notable example. It’s a place that can give an extra impulse to Europapark functioning as a living/working location. The city council wants to start developing this plot quickly. There’s space for a mixed-use program of about 70,000 m² GFA (Gross Floor Area). The preferred scenario consists of approximately 50% residential and 50% commercial facilities.

The municipality is collaborating with the team of ABC Vastgoed (ABC Planontwikkeling) for the development of plot P2 in Europapark, Groningen. A feasibility study is being conducted for the initial phases of development to establish a viable and executable plan.

The development of plot P2 holds significant potential with ambitious goals. The challenge in this development lies with the remaining foundations of the former Hunze power plant. This calls for both creativity and innovative ideas. The feasibility study involves close engagement with the surrounding area and is expected to be completed by mid-2023. Subsequently, further steps will be taken towards finalising the planning and implementation.

For this development, the team of ABC Planontwikkeling consists of: ABC Planontwikkeling (risk-bearing developer), RYSE (development, project and construction management), Vector-i (architects - Groningen), EFFEKT (architects - Denmark), Felixx (landscape architect), Traject (sustainability), Broad ID (integrated design/constructor), Spark (mobility), Bouw21 (advisor realisation, chain management) and Re:Invent (operation and management).
