Redevelopment of Hudson's Bay - The Hague

The former Hudson's Bay building on the Grote Marktstraat in The Hague will be redeveloped in the coming years by RYSE, on behalf of CBRE Investment Management (CBRE IM). The Municipality of The Hague, Leiden University and CBRE IM are working together to facilitate housing for the university in the building. The growth of Leiden University's Campus The Hague necessitates expansion. This expansion will take place in the former premises of the Canadian chain.

The role of RYSE

RYSE directed the design team, to ensure that Leiden University's Program of Requirements fits within the building. This includes sustainability standards that are of paramount importance to both CBRE IM and Leiden University. Additionally, we are responsible for liaising with the municipality, including matters relating to permits. During the construction team phase, we manage the construction team, and arrange the permit procedures and contracts of the contractors. From the start of construction, in addition to the overarching role of development and project manager, we also take on construction management. On top of that, we serve as the first point of contact for (sitting) tenants, local residents and other stakeholders.
