Redevelopment of V&D – Eindhoven: retail and office space
The old V&D building is being redeveloped into a mix of retail, office spaces and hospitality. On the 5th floor, there will be a company restaurant with a beautiful view over the city.
Respecting history
The former V&D building has a long and rich history. For this reason, the architect Kentie & Partners chose to preserve the existing structure of the building and make it as visible as possible. The building includes a curtain wall featuring a lot of glass. To create even more light and space on the street, the upper levels of the building will be completely demolished. In their place, a green rooftop pavilion will be constructed, surrounded by a terrace, thereby contributing to the greening of the city centre.
From analysis to reality
RYSE represents the interests of MN on behalf of its client, Stichting Pensioenfonds Metaal en Techniek (Metal and Engineering Industry Pension Fund Foundation) and is also supervising the entire process. RYSE has been involved in the redevelopment from the initial analyses and studies. Together with the design team and MN, RYSE has developed the definitive design for the planned redevelopment of the V&D building. Additionally, RYSE takes care of the permit process, the contracting of the design and construction team partner and contractor for the development and implementation phase, as well as the preparation and supervision of the demolition work. RYSE also assesses and incorporates tenant preferences into the final design and supports the client in drawing up rental agreements. During the implementation phase, RYSE handles project and quality management too.
